We are delighted to announce the opening of Trails for People at Bear Mountain State Park in Rockland County, New York. This unique interpretive adventure play experience celebrates the pleasures of hiking and the art and craft of trail design and construction. Located directly on the Appalachian Trail, each of these whole body play components illustrates a different aspect of trail building, from stepping stones and puncheon bridges to stone culverts and rock cribbing. Nearby, a section of trail demonstrates how these components are used. All the exhibits were designed to be built and maintained by volunteers, just like the trail. Many thanks to our client, the New York New Jersey Trail Conference, whose amazing staff and volunteers really made this project happen.
